This is a position specific recruitment for the Department of Natural Resources- Annapolis, Maryland location.  This recruitment will be used to fill current and future vacancies for this position/function only.  The resulting eligible list will be maintained for one year.  Persons interested in future vacancies within this classification must re-apply.

LOCATION OF POSITION

Annapolis, MD (Anne Arundel County)

Main Purpose of Job

The Department of Natural Resources, located in Annapolis, Maryland, is currently accepting applications for two positions within the Finance and Administrative Service and the Licensing and Registration Service.

Finance and Administrative Service

The primary purpose of this position is to be responsible for the processing of mail and the receiving and storing of supplies at the Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR). The selected candidate is also responsible for assisting with the Department's Supportive Services fleet related duties.

The incumbent will be responsible for the receiving and delivering of incoming mail and parcels. Additional duties include the responsibility for the delivery and pickup of mail and parcels from other State agencies as well as the post office within the Annapolis area. The selected candidate is responsible for lifting package that may exceed 50 pounds. 

Licensing and Registration Service

The primary purpose of  this position is to plan, coordinate, direct and monitor multiple complex procurements, maintain supplies and equipment inventories, maintain related records and prepare reports, and perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Two (2) years experience in general services functions, office administration activities or in the receiving, storing, issuance, purchase or requisition of equipment, materials, and parts and supplies.

Note:

1. Additional experience as stated above may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in logistics specialist classifications or administrative support specialty codes in the logistics field of work, on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

1. Posession of a valid driver's license with six or less points.

2. Ability and willingness to lift up to 50 lbs.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
