Main Purpose of Job
This position functions as an Inventory Coordinator responsible for assisting in overseeing the acquisition, relocation, and disposal of furniture and equipment within the Department of Human Resources (DHR) Central and statewide offices. The incumbent in this position is responsible for the control, care, maintenance, and security of property; assists the local departments with the development of sound inventory practices, procedures and production of annual reports for statewide distribution; conducts site visits to assist local departments and DHR administrations with physical inventories; maintains the Asset Management Software System for inventory control; makes recommendations regarding improvements in the inventory process; generates and assists in the monthly preparation of production reports for measuring of asset acquisition, excess property disposals and transfers; maintains motorized equipment, restock shelves, store surplus supplies, verifies authorized signatures, return damaged or incorrect merchandise; and performs other related duties.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Two years experience in general services functions, office administration activities or in the receiving, storing, issuance, purchase or requisition of equipment, materials, and parts and supplies.
Note: Additional experience as stated above may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
