Spring Grove Hospital Center, Catonsville, MD

The main purpose of this position is to supervise staff engaged in housekeeping activities at a large State facility set on a 189 acre campus. The activities are specific to cleaning ward areas, residences, administrative offices, etc. and requisitioning and maintaining cleaning supplies to handle the needs of the workers assigned to the areas. This position receives general supervision from a higher level Housekeeping Supervisor.

Experience: Four years of experience performing housekeeping activities in a State facility or other public building.

 OR

Four years of full-time experience as a housekeeper in a school, hospital, hotel, or other institution, to include one year of supervisory experience.

1. Employees in this classification may be required to be present for duty on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.  Employees required to work on those days will receive compensatory time off on other days.

2. Employees in this classification may be required to live on the grounds of the institution or agency.

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
