Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to provide administrative management for all assigned operations at the Eastern Shore Hospital Center to provide the best care for patients.  Position will provide executive direction, instruction and supervision to Program Directors assuring the efficient operation of each unit.  The incumbent will also execute, administer and evaluate operating funds to all units, both support and clinical services, to assure funding for emergencies and unexpected expenditures.  This position will be responsible for budget prepartations such as evaluating and estimating the hospital requirements for funding for the assigned fiscal year and reviewing, utilizing Budget Management, DHMH and MHA guidelines, the actual Operation Budget Request for submission to the Legislature.  This position will also provide constant, accurate, technical data to the CEO of Eastern Shore Hospital Center to help make decisions on various complex issues involving budgeted funds, capital funds, technical contacts and agreements, and State regulations. 

MINIMUM EDUCATION OR GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in health, human service, or a management field and five (5) years of administrative experience, including two (2) years at a managerial or supervisory level that include knowledge of budget preparation/budget management.  A related Master’s degree will substitute for one (1) year of general experience. 

 

Experience managing one or more hospital or residential care facility support services units or departments such as accounting/budget, plant management/maintenance, purchasing, food service, personnel (etc.) is desirable.
