LOCATION OF POSITION
Main Purpose of Job
The Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Maryland Park Service Training Division is currently accepting applications for a seasonal contractual Administrative Assistant. This position will be a 10-month contractual position working 32-40 hours per week in the Annapolis headquarters office (Anne Arundel County). The incumbent provides administrative support to the training division staff of the Maryland Park Service. The selected candidate will maintain data bases, handle correspondence via mail and email, handle basic procurement, provide customer service to students and outside vendors, handle basic budget maintenance, and assist with preparation of training course materials. The applicant must have excellent skills in organization, communication (in-person and telephone), and general office management.
Note: Applicant must be able to start in early September 2016.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Two years of experience in the administrative or secretarial science field with experience in Microsoft Office 2010 or higher, Access, Excel, and Power Point. Eight (8) months experience working for the Maryland Park Service and using Crown Point Technologies: Skills Manager software for training record management.

An Associate's degree or higher is preferred but not required.

BENEFITS
Contractual employees who works for an agency covered under the State Employee and Retiree Health and Welfare Benefits Program (the Program), have a current employment contract and work 30 or more hours a week (or on average 130 hours per month) may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage for themselves and their dependents. As a contractual employee, you will be responsible for paying 25% of the premiums for your medical and prescription coverage, including any eligible dependents you have enrolled. The State of Maryland will subsidize the remaining 75% of the cost for these benefits. You can also elect to enroll in dental coverage, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and life insurance, but will be responsible to pay the full premium for these benefits.
