Introduction

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.

Main Purpose of Job

This position performs managerial work and is responsible for the overall administration and operation of a facility to include: administrative, budget preparation, management of overtime resources, programs, custody, work-release functions of the facility, and general administrative duties as assigned. This position reports directly to a Warden.

MINIMUM EDUCATION OR GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited four year college or university, including 15 credit hours in criminal justice or a related field.

Applicants may substitute additional experience in a position of major responsibility for the required education at a rate of 1 year of experience to 1 year of education for up to four years of the required education.

 

Experience:

Four years of experience in criminal justice, preferable in a  prison, jail or  detention center, to include two  years of supervision or two years experience in a position of major responsibility, ie., Director, Department Head, Program Administrator/Coordinator.

Applicants may substitute additional college credits at the rate of 30 credits for up to one year of the required experience.
