JOB DESCRIPTION

The Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services is currently seeking qualified applicants for a Children's Program Coordinator position. Job duties include managing day to day activities of the County's After School Activities (CASA) program. This program is a before and after school program for elementary school age children currently operating at 41 sites. Position will insure the quality and content of program design, organization, curriculum development and implementation of the program County wide. Oversee the organization, performance, training and development of staff. Coordinates the State of Virginia Child Care licensing process and requirements for each of the sites to ensure compliance. Plan, develop and manage a large annual budget. Coordinate registration, customer service and fee collection. Develop and recommend policies and procedures to ensure continuous improvement and a quality program.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Position requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in recreation, child care, education or related field and at least 3 years directly related work experience, which must include a minimum of one year program management and supervisory experience. Knowledge of the State of Virginia Child Day Centers licensing standards preferred.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

POST CONDITIONAL OFFER CONTINGENCIES

Valid driver's license required. Must have certification in First Aid, CPR for adult, infant and child and TB test prior to beginning work. Criminal background, CPS, Credit and DMV check required for successful candidate.
