The Department of Parks, Recreation & Community Services is currently seeking qualified applicants for year round lifeguard positions at the Claude Moore Recreation Center in Sterling, Virginia. Monitors the activities and ensures the safety of swimmers. Observes and enforces pool rules and regulations. Performs daily custodial duties to ensure a safe and clean aquatic facility. Maintains required aquatic facility records. Flexible schedule available, early mornings, nights, days and weekends. Salary will be based on qualifications.

Lifeguard II requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma. Lifeguard I requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to completion of the 10th grade. All lifeguard positions require certifications. (Applicants that have Lifeguard certification but have not completed 10th grade, may be considered for Shallow Water Attendant positions at a lower grade until successful completion of the 10th grade)

Prefer at least six months job related work experience.

Must have Red Cross or equivalent Lifeguard Certification, including First Aid and CPR, prior to beginning work.
