MAJOR FUNCTION

Performs mid-level project management duties of moderate complexity in any of a large variety of agencies, divisions, or departments, with responsibility for planning, budgeting, organizing, coordinating, directing and controlling personnel, material, and physical resources to achieve project objectives. Specifically, Project Managers manage discreet projects or multiple projects rather than fixed teams of personnel.

MAJOR DUTIES

Depending on the particular agency/division/department to which they are assigned, individual employees may perform all or any of the duties described below.

  • Plans and organizes activities of cross-functional partners; provides timely reporting to funding agencies; assists the care management team in selection; secures and processes supporting documentation; coordinates photographer commitments and photo shoot scheduling; cultivates volunteers.
  • Provides guidance, training, scheduling, and support to partner and community projects.
  • Addresses customer inquiries received from the internet, exhibit and phone; responds to or direct complex inquiries to the appropriate resources; ensures follow up and resolution.
  • Provides ongoing content management for website and insures calendar updates for exhibit locations and activities; revises content as needed.
  • Secures funding through corporate and private donors; provides ideas for exhibit venues, events and brand development activities; leverages resources and builds brand equity.
  • Assists in the development of annual budget; oversees the allocation of funds and the preparation of routine summaries.
  • Assists in the production and design of external marketing material such as brochures, ads, fliers, banners, give-aways, etc., and insures internal marketing materials are in place.
  • Maintains, documents and evaluates activity impact on objectives; analyzes data to determine program effectiveness and implements program adjustments.
  • Develops and utilizes best practices model for program development and growth.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • Considerable knowledge of the functions, activities, requirements and objectives of the specific project to which assigned.
  • Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of project management.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to effectively coordinate resources and manage these resources to a successful project outcome.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with others within and outside own organization.
  • Ability to use initiative, and exercise sound judgment.
  • Ability to collect, organize and analyze data and make logical decisions.
  • May require specialized technical knowledge of a specific operational area.
  • Ability to coordinate specialized work in a specialized area.
  • Ability to use a computer and related software.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Note: Minimum Qualifications MUST be attained before the recruitment ending date.

 

Graduation from an accredited four year degree granting college or university with a major in Marketing, Communications, Social Work, or Psychology; and

Three years of program/project management experience in an Event Management, Customer Service, Social Work or Marketing environment.

 

OR

A Master's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Marketing, Communications, Social Work, or Psychology; and

Two years of program/project management experience in an Event Management, Customer Service, Social Work or Marketing environment.

 

OR

An Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university; and

Five years of program/project management experience in an Event Management, Customer Service, Social Work or Marketing environment.

 

OR

Graduation from high school or possession of a GED Certificate; and

Six years of program/project management experience in an Event Management, Customer Service, Social Work or Marketing environment.

    OPEN AND CLOSED RECRUITMENTS:  We are running concurrent Closed (Internal) and Open recruitments. Internal candidates on a closed eligibility list must be considered first, prior to a selection being made from the open eligibility list. To be considered for the same classification under Open recruitment, internal candidates must also apply under the open recruitment process.
