Summary Statement

This position with the Delaware Coastal Programs will be responsible for overseeing and conducting applied coastal resource research that increases understanding of coastal and estuarine ecosystems and informs their stewardship. This position will contribute to inter-agency partnerships and work with multi-disciplinary teams of scientists, natural resource managers, educators, and trainers to design and conduct ecological research and monitoring.

Selective Requirement

Selective Requirements must be met in addition to the job requirements.  Applicants who do not possess the selective requirement will not be qualified.

  1. Six months experience in managing applied coastal research and monitoring projects.

Job Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS for Environmental Scientist V
Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:

  1. Possession of a Doctorate degree in an environmentally related scientific discipline.
  2. Possession of scientific prominence or recognition with publication in a scientific or trade journal.
  3. Five years experience in environmental or natural resources project management which includes planning, developing, implementing, managing and evaluating environmental or natural resources projects to ensure objectives are met.
  4. Five years experience in analyzing and evaluating scientific data.
  5. Five years experience in interpreting environmental laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies and procedures.

As a condition of hire you must possess a valid driver's license (not suspended, revoked or cancelled, or disqualified from driving).
