Summary Statement

The incumbent in this position will maintain Dental Practice Management Software (Dentrix and Dexis) for dental staff located in 5 State Service Center Dental Clinics. Duties include: preparing statistical reports, extracting various statistical data for grant purposes, developing studies to support communicable diseases, partnering with outside agencies to find best practices for extracting the best type of data for Public Health population, creating surveys and developing spreadsheets or other methods for capturing statistical data.

Essential Functions

  • Maintains computerized case registry; prepares statistical reports on the number of cases.
     
  • Verifies completeness and accuracy of reported cases by reviewing hospital and doctor's files on cases.
      
  • Inputs results of surveys into computer; extracts various statistical data from the computer.
     
  • Maintains data collected on clients counseled and tested by the program; issues related reports.
     
  • Develop procedures and implements Prevalence Studies of exposure to communicable diseases.
     
  • Edits quarterly newsletter for the purpose of distributing Aids statistics to the medical community.
     
  • Performs related work as required.

Job Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS for Statistician
Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:

  1. Six months experience in data collection which includes collecting, compiling and maintaining data from multiple sources such as files, records, databases, customers, staff or others.
  2. Six months experience in using an automated information system to enter, update, modify, delete, retrieve/inquire and report on data.
  3. Knowledge of descriptive statistics such as the mean, median, mode or standard deviation.
