Summary Statement

The incumbent will work for the Office for Evidence-Based Practice (OEP) in the Division of Prevention and Behavioral Health Services. The incumbent will assist the director of OEP in inventorying and selecting evidence based practices (EBP) that appropriately address service gaps in the division’s system of care. They will develop a working understanding of EBPs, provide training support and consultation around their use, work with third party evaluators to assess for EBP effectiveness, and assist with the writing of reports, grant applications, and long-term plans.

Essential Functions

Essential functions are fundamental, core functions common to all positions in the class series and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all job duties for any one position in the class.   • Interviews clients; administers, scores and interprets results of standard and complex psychological and vocational tests. Participates in making diagnoses; plans program of treatment and gives individual and group therapy to person with minor through major disorder.  
      
  • Confers with others such as staff, state and private agencies, community service agencies, courts, schools, police and families. 
      
  • Writes reports and may assist in program development.
      
  • May provide individual services where needed including making home visits.
      
  • May direct the work of lower level personnel.
      
  • May work in a psychiatric emergency setting on a temporary or fulltime basis.
     
  • May perform functions which include responsibility for a program area.
      
  • May testify as an expert witness in court.

JOB REQUIREMENTS for Psychological Assistant
Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:

  1. Registered as a Delaware Psychological Assistant or eligible for registration in Delaware.

JOB REQUIREMENTS for Psychologist
Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:

  1. Possession of a doctoral degree in psychology.
  2. Possession of a Delaware Psychologist license or eligibility for a Delaware Psychologist license.

Conditions of Hire

Criminal background check: A satisfactory criminal background check is required as a condition of hire.  The recruiting agency may require the applicant to pay for the criminal background check as part of the conditional offer of hire.

Pre-employment Drug Testing:  Upon a conditional offer, you must undergo pre-employment drug testing as part of the hiring process.
