Seasonal Retail Attendant

Summary Statement

The seasonal position will sell retail items, provide customer service by explaining regulations, answering visitor requests, and provide information about the park and surrounding areas. Responsibilities may include completing daily deposits, creating associated revenue reports; maintaining retail merchandise, running an automated sales program and other clerical duties as required.  Applicants must be able to work weekends and holidays as scheduled and may be required to work at other park facilities as needed.

Essential Functions

Essential functions are fundamental, core functions common to all position in the class series and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all job duties for any one position in the class.  Since class specifications are descriptive and not restrictive, incumbents can complete job duties of similar kind not specifically listed here.  

  • Collect appropriate fees and maintain accountability for handling of money.
  • Serve as liaison with the public, clients, staff and others to exchange information and explain services, rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Track inventory.
  • Maintain gift shop displays and cleanliness of the store.
  • Maintains and compiles fiscal and narrative records and reports.
  • Must be able to demonstrate responsibility, dependability and good communication skills.
  • Maintain a positive attitude.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  1. Knowledge of customer service such as providing prompt, accurate, and courteous service to customers seeking information, answering requests as quickly as possible.
  2. Knowledge of math such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, or decimals.
  3. Knowledge of using an automated information system to enter, update, modify, delete, retrieve/inquire and report on data.
