Essential Functions
Ensure that State facilities are well maintained, and implement programs and initiatives to ensure each facility is energy efficient, architecturally accessible and environmentally safe.
Ensure that all demolition, renovation, and new construction of State buildings is completed in a timely fashion and meets the latest standards of construction technology, building and life safety codes and space standards through plan review and technical oversight.
Management, oversight and coordination of Technical Services, which includes engineering and operations, review and approval of technical documents and contracts, project management, building support system engineering, and selection and awarding of professional service and construction contracts.
Provide staff support to the Architectural Accessibility Board. This includes the review and approval of technical documents, coordination of various State construction and renovation projects, architectural accessibility standards for State-owned facilities, and ensure projects meet current building codes, federal codes and mandates.
Management, coordination and oversight of real property and space leasing for State facilities. This includes real estate negotiations, office space allocation, architectural accessibility, and location restrictions due to Federal mandates on Clean Air legislation and coordination of proximity of State services to lessen the travel distance for the general public.
Performs other duties as assigned.
