Essential Functions

  • Collects accurate data and provides thorough analysis of industrial and occupational changes and trends in Delaware's labor market.
     
  • Provides Delaware labor market data and reports to administrators and planners in education and economic development and private employers.
     
  • Coordinates the dissemination of labor market information and related economic conditions by producing special data sets for educators, economic development personnel, government administrators and the general public.
     
  • Keeps abreast of developments and impending federal and state directives related to labor market trends, analysis techniques, and reporting requirements.

Job Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS for Labor Market Analyst
Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:

  • Possession of a Bachelors degree or higher in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Business Management, Computer Information Systems or related field.

          OR

  1. Six months experience in conducting studies such as evaluating operations, programs, services, policies and procedures to determine efficiency, effectiveness, whether goals and objectives are met and compliance with laws, rules, regulations, polices and procedures.
  2. Six months experience in descriptive statistics such as the mean, median, mode or standard deviation.
  3. Six months experience in narrative report writing.
  4. Knowledge of inferential statistics such as correlation, t-tests, f-tests or analysis of variance.
  5. Knowledge of using statistical software such as SPSS or SAS.

Conditions of Hire

Union:  As a condition of accepting employment, the person selected for this position shall join and pay dues to the labor organization or may, instead not join but pay a service fee no greater than the dues.  The labor organization has been elected by employees as their representative for collective bargaining and other work related purposes.
