Summary Statement

The Senior Telecommunications Technologist is responsible for the design, configuration, implementation and management of the compute, storage, and network components of the State’s virtual infrastructure. This includes all supporting systems for monitoring, provisioning, and analysis.

Selective Requirement

Candidate should have experience with VMWare’s virtualization platform(s) and technologies. Candidates with experience with Cisco ACI and Ansible are preferred.

Job Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS for the Senior Telecommunications Technologist:

  • Minimum of 4 weeks technical training over the past two years or 10 weeks over the past five years. Training must be documented, and must have been from a recognized training facility requiring examinations. 
  • Possession of professional Information Technology certifications preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years hands-on experience in enterprise environments.
  • Experience with VMWare products.
  • Experience with storage management.
  • Advanced experience with system hardware including servers and switches.
  • Advanced problem resolution, communication and writing skills.
  • Advanced knowledge in system analysis.
  • Experience successfully leading one or more on-time installations of communications systems.
