Summary Statement

The principal responsibility for the Senior Analyst is to provide effective technical support for DTI’s technical infrastructure and services for the assigned assets in a way that is efficient, meets the needs of the customers (both DTI and other state agencies) and customers in compliance with DTI policy and procedures. The services will be primarily rendered through a combination of personal effort, joint effort with others in the workgroup, and collaboration with other DTI staff, vendors and customers.

The Senior Analyst is expected to possess strong technical proficiency in one or more of the core Technology Domains, technical proficiency in several others, and technical awareness in the rest.

The Senior Analyst will report to the Lead Data Center Infrastructure Engineer.

The Technology Domains include the following:

  • MidRange Server Support – UNIX, Windows, LINUX
  • Middleware Support
  • Web Engineering Support
  • Planning

Selective Requirement

  • Infrastructure - Data center mechanical, electrical, environmental, safety, and fire suppression systems experience. 
  • Technical Support - Experience with systems monitoring, racking and stacking IT equipment, CAT6, fiber, and similar cables & wiring. 
  • Advanced troubleshooting – Proficient in monitoring and troubleshooting LAN/WAN, Windows Servers, SAN storage systems, VMware, Cisco/Juniper Switches & Routers, data center cooling and power distribution systems.

Job Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS FOR THE SENIOR ANALYST-IT FACILITIES & INFRASTRUCTURE

  • Bachelor's Degree in an I/T discipline or equivalent work experience, strongly preferred.
  • Professional certifications commensurate with advanced to expert technical capabilities.
  • Experience in Quality Process Management or ITIL. 
  • 5 years’ experience in one or more of the selective requirements and related product support in a 24X7 operational environment. Experience to include installation and configuration, version testing, debugging, installation of patches, direct technical vendor interactions , tuning and disaster recovery.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in project leadership including defining, evaluating, leading tracking and reporting on complex multi-resource projects.
  • Strong discipline in the areas of problem and change management.
  • Strong analytical skills, with particular emphasis on identifying creative solutions to I/T problems within applicable constraints.
  • Support a 24x7 operational environment. The operating environment will require extended hours, including engagement outside normal working hours.
