Summary Statement

This position will present Wetland Environmental Educational material about the Salt Marsh to groups of fifth grade students in an outdoor field trip setting, help set up field trip equipment at start of day, and clean and put away equipment at end of field trip. This position will also assist in maintaining field trip materials, equipment and other educational resources and perform other tasks related to the preparation and presentation of the field trip program.   Work is performed outdoors under various weather conditions.

  • Provides educational material about the Salt Marsh to groups of fifth graders. 
  • Provides technical information to the 5th grade classes regarding the Ecosystems curriculum.
  • Ability to work in an outdoor setting with large amount of walking.
  • Must be dependable and have good communication skills.
  • Maintains a positive attitude and have fun.

  1. Experience working with children and young adults such as babysitting, academic/athletic tutoring, camp counselor, youth volunteer, classroom assistant or education teacher.
  2. Knowledge of Environmental Science.

Conditions of Hire

Criminal background check:  A satisfactory criminal background check is required as a condition of hire.  The recruiting agency may require the applicant to pay for the criminal background check as part of the conditional offer of hire.
