The incumbent in this position plans, directs and manages the acquisition, receipt, storage, preservation and distribution of medical supplies, equipment and general supplies of the Materials Management Department. Manages and administers the inventory control system, public appeals property system; and establishes and maintains necessary supply discipline procedures to ensure the maximum utilization of available assets and on time delivery of supplies and materials. Other duties include providing day-to day supervision to four merit employees and one casual/seasonal engaged in materials management & inventory service activities, including but not limited to: ordering, receiving, assembling, storing, handling, inventorying, & disbursing medical and administrative supplies and materials/equipment. Other responsibilities include coordinating with inter-departmental heads, other state Long Term Care facilities, vendors, suppliers and OMB Support Service concerning supplies, materials and product specifications. Prepares a variety of reports concerning, requisitioning, inventory management, Public Appeals Property, disposal records, and MSDS/SDS specification. The incumbent serves as a member of the DHCI Incident Command System Staff during emergency operations in the position of Supply Unit Leader.
