Summary Statement

The position will assist the Climate Adaptation Project Manager with research, policy analysis, tracking and coordination.  This position will be responsible for supporting programs and initiatives that will increase the state’s resiliency to climate change. Specific projects include research and analysis of policies for worker safety in high heat events and storms, research and analysis of climate impacts on state buildings and assets and tracking progress of state agency climate adaptation recommendations.

Essential Functions

  • Research and analyze policies, data and information.
  • Evaluate costs, benefits, consequences and outcomes of climate change.
  • Develop forms, spreadsheets, records and reports to document progress of adaptation recommendations.
  • Coordinate between agencies for meetings, site visits and data needs.
  • Must be able to demonstrate responsibility, dependability and good communication skills.

  1. Six months experience in conducting research.
  2. Six months experience in using standard computer software programs for word processing, spreadsheets or databases.
  3. Knowledge of climate change science and climate impacts to natural and built environments.
  4. Knowledge of interpreting rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
