Summary StatementThis class is involved in supervising the activities of trades, mechanical and/or semi-skilled and unskilled workers, scheduling preventive maintenance routine duties, and work of a difficult and complex nature; determining work priorities and providing solutions for unique and complex assignments.
Nature and ScopeAn incumbent in this class reports to a technical or administrative supervisor and is responsible for overseeing on-going and incidental maintenance and repairs to ensure efficient operation of an entire physical plant or the assigned portion of operations in a complex facility. Work in this class involves supervising and participating in a variety of mechanical and/or trade areas. Significant aspects of work in this class include inspecting facilities to determine general condition of building and fixtures; resolving personnel issues, assigning work orders, evaluating job requests, ensuring adequate supplies and materials and assuring the implementation of safety practices and procedures. This class is responsible for overseeing the supervision, training, custody and control of inmate workers.
