THIS IS A NEW ASSEMBLED EXAMINATION. The eligible list resulting from this examination will cancel any existing list and may last approximately one year, but can be extended.

Supplemental Questionnaire: A properly completed Supplemental Questionnaire must be submitted with each application. While this classification is typically housed in both the Social Services Agency and the Health Care Services Agency, the Social Services Agency currently has immediate openings for this classification. The eligible list established from this recruitment may be used by any County department or agency needing to fill a vacancy.

In order to participate in the examination process, applicants must qualify through one of the following patterns:
Social Worker III Level
Either I
The equivalent of one-year experience in the class of Social Worker II or in an equivalent or higher level Social Worker class in the Alameda County classified service. (Non-classified includes District Attorney’s Office, Hospital Authority, and the Consolidated Courts.)
Or II
Education:
Possession of a Bachelor's degree, including 30 semester or 45 quarter units in social welfare, social/human services, sociology or other behavioral science,
And
Experience:
The equivalent of two years of full-time experience performing duties comparable to a Social Worker II. (Completion of one year of graduate study in an accredited school of social work may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required experience.)
License:
All positions require possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle Operator's license.
NOTE: The Civil Service Commission may modify the above Minimum Qualifications in the announcement of an examination.
