THIS IS A NEW ASSEMBLED EXAMINATION. The eligible list resulting from this examination will cancel any existing list and may last approximately one year, but can be extended.

Supplemental Questionnaire: A properly completed Supplemental Questionnaire must be submitted with each application. Failure to submit the Supplemental Questionnaire will result in disqualification.
The Position:
The Assistant Business Analyst will have opportunities to work on impactful projects and be responsible for translating business problems or needs into business requirements and functional specifications. Under direction, positions in this classification assist in the design, configuration and maintenance of the countywide ALCOLINK (PeopleSoft) HRMS and Financials systems. The Assistant Business Analyst also assists with system set up, testing and ongoing system and end-user functional support for ALCOLINK HRMS or Financials and other databases/systems; and other related duties as required. Incumbents in this classification are located in the Human Resource Services Department and the Purchasing Department of the General Services Agency. Incumbents report to and receive instruction from the Business Analyst. Incumbents perform journey-level work in the support, design, development, testing and implementation/ upgrade of ALCOLINK HRMS or Financials.
The Ideal Candidate:
In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications for the position, successful candidates will possess relevant functional experience analyzing business requirements and information technology needs, preferably in a public sector environment. The Assistant Business Analyst will perform duties pertaining to the identification of department business needs and assist with the development of technology solutions to resolve business problems and/or automation of business processes. The Assistant Business Analyst may serve as the primary project assistant or lead over assigned technology projects. In collaboration with department staff, the Assistant Business Analyst will develop, set and complete project goals and milestones associated with the department's business needs. The successful candidate will exhibit demonstrated experience providing business analysis in the functional areas with proven experience analyzing and documenting user requirements. THE EXAMINATION WILL CONSIST OF the following steps: 1) A review of candidates' applications to verify possession of minimum requirements. Those candidates who possess the minimum requirements for the class will move on to the next step in the examination process which is a review of the candidates supplemental questionnaire. 2) Supplemental questionnaires will be evaluated on the relevance, level, recency, progression and quality of candidate's education, training and experience. It is imperative that you are diligent and thorough when completing your supplemental questionnaire. The information that you provide will be used to weigh your experience against other competitors. Therefore, the candidate's responses to the supplemental questionnaire should be thorough, detailed and complete. The supplemental questionnaire evaluation will be weighted as 100% of the candidates' final examination score. The score from the supplemental questionnaire review will determine the ranking on the eligible/employment list for this examination.
CANDIDATES MUST ATTAIN A QUALIFYING RATING ON EACH PORTION OF THIS EXAMINATION. We reserve the right to make changes to the announced examination components.
